Ballet Etiquette

• Students are to wear black bodysuit and pink tights (with feet, in shoes) and pink ballet slippers to their open and exam classes.

• Students are permitted to wear solid colored bodysuits and/or chiffon ballet wrap skirt, with pink tights (with feet, in shoes) and pink ballet slippers for their choreography class only.

• Students must have their hair in a classical style bun with hair net and many hair pins or a tidy sock bun (although classical bun is preferred).

• Students who arrive to class without proper attire and/or hair in acceptable bun will be asked to go fix the issue. If that is not possible, then a note will be sent home to parents notifying them of the issue. Should the student arrive again without proper attire/hair they will be asked to leave class and it will count as an absent.

• If students have two classes in a row (example, ballet then jazz) you DO NOT need to change your outfit. Throw on some shorts and tank top! However, this does NOT apply to ballet classes as all regular attire is required.

• Students are allowed to miss 3 ballet classes per year. All classes beyond the permitted 3 must be made up in a timely manner.
